Client appreciation isn’t just a “nice to have.” It’s one of the most effective ways small businesses, schools, nonprofits, and trade professionals build long-lasting relationships and strengthen brand loyalty.

Branded gifts create memorable touchpoints throughout the year—and when done well, they become useful, appreciated items that customers keep, use, and remember. That’s why businesses partner with promotional product experts like Zamar to curate meaningful items that align with their brand and their audience. Their 30+ years of experience and service-driven approach make the process simple, stress-free, and effective.

In this article, we’ll explore smart strategies for selecting branded gifts throughout the year, plus ideas for products that create positive, memorable impressions.

A curated selection of branded promotional products—perfect for seasonal client appreciation gifts that leave a lasting impression.

Why Branded Gifts Work

Promotional products are powerful because they are:

Useful – People love items they can use daily.

Memorable – A well-designed gift sticks with your customer.

Tangible – In a digital world, physical gifts stand out.

Affordable – With the right partner, you can stay on budget without compromising quality.

Long-lasting – High-quality promo items get months (even years) of use.

And unlike one-off ads, branded gifts stay in front of customers far longer.

Choosing the Right Gift for the Right Season

A thoughtful gift strategy aligns items with seasonal needs. Here’s how to make it work year-round:

🌱 Spring: Fresh Starts & Community Events

Spring is full of school activities, trade shows, community fundraisers, and outdoor events—especially for Zamar’s ideal clients, like schools, nonprofits, and small businesses.

Great spring promotional items include:

• Branded water bottles
• Lightweight tees
• Outdoor event kits
• Sunglasses
• Seed packets
• Tote bags
• Custom notebooks

If your organization participates in spring events, these gifts increase visibility and create positive impressions.

☀️ Summer: Travel, Camps & Outdoor Work

Summer is a prime opportunity for functional, long-lasting branded items.

Top summer promotional items:

• Cooling towels
• Insulated tumblers
• Sunscreen or lip balm
• Drawstring backpacks
• Branded hats
• Picnic blankets
• Employee workwear bundles

Trades especially love summer-ready gear that keeps crews comfortable and safe in the heat.

🍂 Fall: Back-to-School & Business Reboot

Schools—one of Zamar’s core audiences—need branded spirit wear, staff appreciation gifts, and event giveaways during this season. Nonprofits and businesses often ramp back up after summer slowdowns.

Popular fall items include:

• Hoodies
• Embroidered jackets
• Spirit wear bundles
• Pens & office accessories
• Coffee tumblers
• Branded planners

Fall is also a great time to launch or refresh your custom online store, making staff ordering easier than ever.

❄️ Winter: Holiday Gifting & Year-End Appreciation

Winter is peak gifting season. A branded item that’s high quality, practical, and beautifully presented makes a lasting impression.

Crowd-pleasing winter gifts:

• Soft blankets
• Premium drinkware
• Cozy beanies
• Corporate apparel & embroidery
• Custom ornaments
• Gift sets

Clients love thoughtful seasonal items, and employees feel genuinely cared for.

Tips for Choosing Gifts That Leave an Impression

No matter the season, follow these guidelines:

✔ Choose items people will actually use

Utility always wins.

✔ Prioritize quality over quantity

A premium item outperforms a box of forgettable giveaways.

✔ Match the item to your brand personality

Fun? Professional? Bold? Eco-friendly? Choose accordingly.

✔ Personalize when possible

Names, custom messaging, or tailored packaging go a long way.

✔ Work with experts who handle everything

Zamar stands out because they simplify the entire process: product selection, mockups, printing, and distribution. Their customer-first mindset means you get attentive service and reliable turnaround times.

Why Partner with a Local Promotional Products Company?

Instead of guessing online, a local partner offers:

• Real communication with real humans
• High-quality mockups before printing
• Thoughtful product recommendations
• Reliable timelines
• Options for shipping, fulfillment, or event distribution
• The ability to build branded online stores for repeat needs

This is especially valuable for organizations juggling many responsibilities—schools, nonprofits, small businesses, and busy trade professionals.

Branded gifts have the power to make people feel valued—and the right products create meaningful connections that last. Whether you’re planning seasonal gifting, outfitting employees, or preparing for community events, partnering with a knowledgeable, service-oriented provider ensures everything looks sharp and reflects your brand well.

Zamar is here to help you choose memorable gifts for any season and make the process simple from start to finish.

When times are uncertain, as they are now, it gives us all an opportunity to express our gratitude and humanity. Not only does it help others, it helps us feel good ourselves. While we should give back to our communities of choice based on a true desire to help, the fact remains that giving back is also a smart business strategy. Many individuals look for a company’s giving policy as an indicator that they are a good global citizen.

A particular area that could use assistance today may be families with school-aged children. It appears that many school districts will be not having kids in physical classrooms at all, or only a few days a week. As the beginning of the new school year approaches, and Covid statistics are rapidly changing differently in different states, local officials are now making policy decisions. The bottom line looks to be many kids doing school from home. If they are going into the classroom, teachers will have to be extra vigilant with safety protocols. Students will not be able to share supplies like they typically would.

What if your business, or your peer business owner group, or your power partners, teamed together to provide branded school supplies or hygiene supplies to schools and/or families? Particularly in areas that need extra assistance, the help would be appreciated, your name gets out in the world, and you are helping solve a problem.

What to give? How about some branded pencils with encouraging sayings or their school name on them? School sports teams may not be playing this season, but what if you teamed up with partners to print t-shirts anyway so the kids can feel some camaraderie from afar? Notebooks and notepads, along with regular paper, are needed in homes. Art supplies are also welcomed, either to give to students to use at home, or to be divided among students in the classroom.

Need ideas? We are happy to brainstorm with you.

We all know marketing is essential for business growth. A good way to share marketing costs and potential business leads is through co-branding and partnership marketing. What makes partnership marketing effective is finding another business with the same type of clientele. If the company is in a similar industry, all the better. Companies providing home services are great for marketing to the same audience. Also, companies providing professional services to businesses are often a good match.

Co-branding promotional products or sending multiple promotional items, each branded separately, can generate goodwill and new leads. A realtor and a mortgage broker could send out a tape measure and a flashlight. A landscaper and a contractor could send an outdoor thermometer and a packet of seeds. A multiple touch campaign is a smart way to capture attention. A CPA and a business attorney could partner, as well as an IT company with a business consultant.

Power partners in the form of fellow business owners give you increased spending power and visibility. Need brainstorming ideas? We are here to help!

In a time when many employees are working from home, it’s more difficult to track and assess how they are doing and what they are experiencing. The pandemic has affected people in different ways, from struggling with managing technology at home, to too many people sharing the technology, to health concerns and crises. Some people are struggling with isolation instead of too many people at home, and it can take a toll.

Taking measures to check in with your employees and colleagues goes a long way toward lifting their spirits and keeping you informed on their well-being. Reminding them that you appreciate their efforts and value their contributions can be fun, motivational, and heartwarming. Here are some ideas to help!

Host a virtual summer picnic. Just because you can’t be together in person doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate your team. Order foldable camp chairs, picnic blankets, picnic baskets, insulated coolers, insulated water bottles, enamel campfire mugs, or outdoor games. Create a basket with campfire mugs, ingredients for s’mores, glow sticks, and bug spray. Send a bottle of wine in an insulated wine tote. Send a giftcard to a local BBQ restaurant with a company logo-embroidered blanket.

If you’ve considered purchasing a bigger item like vests or jackets for your team, do it now! They may not need to wear branded apparel while working from home, but they will appreciate a quality piece of clothing anytime.

Call them and have a personal conversation, not work related. People often say they most value being listened to. Tell them how much they mean to you, especially now.

Choose a VIP of the week and send them a gift basket specially chosen for them. Include a handwritten note letting them know how much you value them.

Send your entire team something that is useful and related to safety during COVID, such as the new door openers (these multi-functional tools are super cool!), hand sanitizer, masks, neck gaiters, or washable shopping bags.

Send gifts to people for their children and pets. People love it when you acknowledge they have a family.

Small gestures that make people smile, or big gestures that say “thank you, we couldn’t do it without you” are all appreciated. When we are worried about business, it’s easy to focus on how to fix things, and forget how we literally couldn’t make it without our employees.

To say that the way we do business has changed would be an understatement. The pandemic this year has been a challenge at best and destructive at worst to business operations. If we look for the silver lining, however, perhaps we can thank technology for helping us stay informed, connected, and managing to keep operating.

One of the biggest aids in switching to virtual communication is Zoom. Who hasn’t been on a Zoom call for a team meeting, family birthday, or school session? The challenge of mastering the technology is only one piece of the Zoom game, the other big challenge of Zoom is boredom.

How can you keep your callers interested and engaged on Zoom or other virtual platform meetings? Here are a few ideas:

Have an icebreaker. We’re all kids inside, and spending just a few minutes on a trivia game, quarantine bingo, quiz, or online scavenger hunt can lighten the mood and get people in communicating mode. Winner gets bragging rights, or if it’s a special occasion, send them a small gift in the mail. Time to raid your swag closet, or order new, fun stuff.

Have a themed meeting and send your team things to wear or bring to the meeting. Matching t-shirts, hats, or water bottles will give people something to look forward to and a fun way to interact on a call.

Take advantage of the technology. Using screen sharing, the chat box, and breakout rooms helps people ask and answer questions, engage and discuss more, and see other things on their screen besides faces.

Encourage people to share their video, it’s easier to engage when you can see someone. Invite people to use the virtual background feature, and to upload a photo (serious or funny) for people to see when they aren’t sharing their video.

Keep it up, keep going, and hang in there. It is possible to come out of this with better communication skills, stronger team relationships, and more knowledge of our own technology. Need creative ideas for swag to share? Call us – we can help!

Suzanne took a little time off from helping business make a lasting impression to call with Live Blissed Out about her hobby, baking.

Baking has been a passion since she was 8 and started making cookies for 4-H competitions. It led to a 10-year baking and breads career in 4-H. Her final award there was a fully paid trip to Chicago paid for by Fleischmann’s Yeast Company.

Here are the recipies from the podcast.

Herb Batter Bread

1 Package Dry Yeast

1 ¾ – Cups Flour

2- Tablespoons sugar

2- Tablespoons shortening

1-Teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon parsley flakes

½ teaspoon marjoram

½ teaspoon oregano

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

2 eggs

¾ cup hot milk (120 degrees)

Place ingredients in order given into a small mixing bowl.
Beat at medium low speed for 3 minutes keep pushed down with a spatula.
Turn into a well-greased 1 ½ quart casserole dish or a bread pan.
Cover, let rise in warm place for 30 minutes.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from casserole immediately.
Makes 1 round or regular loaf

Make Ahead Refrigerator Rolls

1 package dry yeast

1 Tablespoon sugar

2 cups warm water ( 105 to 115 degrees)

1/3 Cup Nonfat dry milk

6 to 7 cups all purpose flour (depends on the humidity in your area)

2 eggs well beaten

1/3 cup shortening

½ cup sugar

1 teaspoon salt

Stir yeast and sugar to dissolved in 1/3 cup of the warm water. Use large enough bowl to accommodate the raised dough.
Add remaining warm water, dry milk solids and 3 cups flour to yeast mixture.
Add beaten eggs, shortening, sugar, salt and enough flour approx. 3-4 cups to form a soft dough. Knead dough well, approximately 7 to 8 minutes.
Cover and let dough stand in warm place until doubled in bulk about 45 minutes
Punch down, put in large container cover tightly. Place in refrigerator punch down as needed to prevent dough from over-rising. Will keep approximately 4 days.
Remove dough from refrigerator when ready to use. Punch down. Let warm to room temperature.
Shape into rolls of any shape clovers, round, sheet pan. If you make balls and place in muffin tins they make nice round fluffy topped rolls.
Bake at 375 degrees makes 3 to 4 dozen.
Brush them with butter **optional but makes for beautiful soft tops!
