We finally made it to Colorado Springs to see the Garden of the Gods nature center.  So many people have talked about how beautiful it is.  So while Pete’s dad was visiting we decided to take the drive.

We spent some time looking around the nature center and gift shop.  I think the coolest thing they had in the entire place was the westworld type map in the center.

The gift shop was huge and had something for everyone.  The exhibits are really what grabbed my attention.  Even though the area they are in is kinda small and was busy it didn’t feel too crowded.

It’s nice to have a place to where you can see the landscape (they even have binoculars) before you actually head into the park.

I thought that it was a perfect day trip to do with family while was visiting.  It was a fun place to start off the day and helped to give you an idea of how to proceed.

I normally don’t ask at the information desk but we wanted to also go to Pikes Peak later that day so we consulted the staff and they were so nice.

They outlined the best route for us to see the park, take a hike and still make it to Pikes Peak to complete the drive and have time to take in the view then drive all the way back down.
