My process is pretty simple. I have a white sink and I love dark colored ink so making sure I don’t stain it is my #1 priority. I am a bit accident prone to I am very careful and always have my supplies lined up and ready to go.

Prep supplies (Paper towels are a MUST!)

Rinse out the old ink until water runs clear

Dry everything (You wouldn’t want to dilute the new ink)

Use a syringe to add the new ink to the cartridge. Make sure you don’t have any air bubbles or you will have ink everywhere.

Cap the cartridge with the Nib and give it a few twists to make sure the ink is ready for writing.

I’ve always been a huge fan of stationary. You could call me an addict I suppose. I was known to hoard it and never actually use the beautiful things I bought or was given as gifts.

It almost seemed (to others I’m sure) that it was a waste but just looking at them made me so happy and still does to this day. I definitely use the things that I have now. My philosophy has changed in regards to that, use your best! No reason to save for a special occasion.

While I haven’t really tested all that many types of fountain pens since some of them can be over $100. But I have to say that the Pilot Metropolitan pens are great for the price.

This is a pen and easy refill cartridges

I also have played around with a few of the nib sizes. Some when I liked the pen but not the nib size. Fine is the one I opt for most times. I like a .3 tip when I use my Staedtler pens.
